Our web site is dedicated to providing information and resources to parents and educators devoted to helping their students become independent learners and thinkers. Irene Long has been working with learning disabled clients since 1983.
Before relocating to Florida, Mrs. Long was the district wide Wilson Reading Specialist for Farmingdale Schools in New York. This experience provided her with the opportunity to teach the students and faculty the Wilson methodologies.
The success of the program and the need for student remediation led her into private practice. (see results)
From November 2004 to May 2005, Mrs. Long worked as a leave replacement teacher for Indiantown Middle School in Martin County, Florida. As a language arts teacher she integrated multisensory reading methodologies into her lessons; as a result, 80% of her students scored significantly higher on their FCATS ( Florida State Standardized Test) compared to their prior FCATS scores.
Irene Long’s experiences have provided her with an array of tools that have proven to be highly effective methods of remediation in all subject areas.
